To take your measurements, simply follow our easy measuring guide videos with the help of a friend and a soft measuring tape (not a ruler or construction measuring tape).
Here are some other tips to keep in mind!
Wear fitted clothing, such as leggings and a fitted t-shirt, when taking measurements.
Wear a thin, supportive bra, whether you plan to wear one with the dress or not.
Do not wear a sports bra, bandeau bra, sweater, or baggy clothing.
Do not decrease your measurements if you are planning to lose weight. If you are particularly concerned, we recommend ordering a standard size.
We suggest ordering four months before your event.
Consider empire waistlines if you are concerned about where the waistline will hit.
You do not need to be measured at a bridal store or by a seamstress, but if you are, please make sure they follow our guidelines.
We accept measurements in both inches and centimeters.
Do not adjust your Height or Hollow to Floor measurements to make your dress shorter or longer. These measurements are used to determine where the hemline, neckline, and waistline should fall.
Adding Extra Length For Heels
For custom sized floor length styles, we require an additional measurement called "Extra Length." This measurement allows you to include the height of your heels (up to 5 inches or 12 centimeters), so that your dress will reach the floor while you are wearing them.
For instance, if you or a member of your party plans to wear 2-inch heels, simply select "+2" for "Extra Length" during the ordering process, and we will add 2 inches of extra length to the custom-sized dress. Please do not add any extra inches to your "Height" and "Hollow to Floor" measurements.
If you are not interested in extra length, just select 0 for "Extra Length" and the dress will be made to hit just above the floor while barefoot. If you are unsure about the shoes you will wear and need to place your order, you can always request a few additional inches and adjust the dress as necessary when it arrives. You can use your alteration reimbursements to help cover some of the cost.
